UNDERSTANDING MOVEMENT [DIRECTORS' WORKSHOP '14]

This course gives theatre directors a fast yet comprehensive introduction to the wide-ranging field of Actor Movement – both for use within their own practice & to enable deeper collaboration with movement directors & choreographers. Developed & led by Kate Sagovsky for FALLING SPACE, this three-day course is specially tailored to the director & offers something unique: a practical introduction to the movement-for-theatre landscape with the deliberate aim of equipping directors for their craft.

Kate Sagovsky works across theatre, dance & live art as a director & movement director/choreographer. Her work with MOVING DUST has been performed at festivals across the UK, & she has also worked extensively as a movement director (including: RSC; The Barbican; Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre; Nabokov; Paines Pough; The Bush). Kate has taught Actor-Movement for the RSC, The Globe & many UK drama schools, as well as internationally in New York & Cape Town.
